Perhaps not the best analogy but I'm sure you can see what I'm getting at.
The bigger picture is this; We have limited jail cell space. That space needs to be available for those most dangerous to society. Non-violent crime should be 'punished' by other means if at all possible, such as probation, tagging with devices to enforce a kerfew or house arrest, community service, fines and other ways to pay restitution etc.

If it is a question of one jail cell and the choice between a 20 year old armed robber vs a hypothetical 80 year old 'cyber' criminal then I certainly know which one I'd rather see locked up.

There could be more jail cell space if they took out the TVs and all the other extra stuff they shouldn't have while being "punished".

      Cheers,

And make them break stones all day . I remember when Mayor Koch was Mayor of New York and he installed the 3 strikes and then Life rule , he cut crime instantly by 75% , were to dam lenient in this country on dangerous Criminals . Throw away the key , . Still think they should let Ronny go though he's not a threat to anyone . The only reason he's still locked up is because the Government got egg on there face . lol . Rob .

Its the lean punishment of non-violent crime that leads these people to bigger and worse crime.... Nip it in the butt at the start I say.. Make the "lesser crimes" a harsher punishment and the more violent crimes a higher prison time, also get rid of all this TV's ect from prison... Should be more like shawshack if you ask me, you step out of line you get a good ole beating from the guards.

The only exception should be youth prison... Still no TV's etc but work with them to get skills that can help then when they get out.

Back on topic... He should not be let out. Serve your time.

I've not a lot of sympathy for Biggs - but at the same time I find it hard to accept him being locked up for life when "Fred the Shred" caused much more harm and is rewarded with a stonking great pension!

Hope he rots to death, that lot of B*stards as good as killed that train driver, he never worked again and died a year later. That's murder in my book and they should've sent MI6 after him and killed him years ago. And his stinkin' little shite of a son.

Cannot agree with letting him out when he chose to come back here and take the pi** out of us all by getting free healthcare. We could of course send him back to Brazil where he seemed to like it so much and let them look after him.

He's just like his old man.... That's good enough for me. Reckons his father didn't deserve the treatment he got.
