  • Lessons - A small price to pay!

I had a lesson with Mark at Flyin Fish yesterday.
I'm still in the early stages and I was working with Mark on the buddy on distant high 8's trying to build up my orientation. Towards the end of the lesson I brought it back towards us to check the fuel and while side on at head height I had a total meltdown, I lost it wholesale, I'd have probably done a better job at recovery with a bag on my head! My Rappy dived 45 degrees sideways full tilt off the flightline and into the long grass.
Now in half a second he snatched it off me with only 2 foot to spare, only 12 inches off the long grass and recovered it just 6 inches off the deck! He brought up & back in with grass wrapped round the head, flybar, blade grips etc. But I cleaned her up and she's come thru completely unscathed.

Now I'm no expert but what I saw there in that split second impressed the hell outta me.

My point is that that lesson cost £35.00 and from the way she was going in I know from experience that would have cost me the thick end of a hundred quid to repair, so I'm £65.00 in credit!

    Beer anyone?

LOL - nice one! A good story well told, and a good outcome.

Perhaps one of you wants to buy a lottery ticket tonight?!
