which grease?

  • which grease?

    hi all, got started on my trex 600snp build this evening and it says to grease different parts during the build. all the manual says is grease but there is quite a few different greases out there.
    which one do you experts sugest to use and can i get it locally ie halfords?

    Yeah mate you can use general yellow castrol type grease or white lithium grease or similar. Even 3-in-1 Spray grease.
    You will need Clear silicone grease for the feathering shaft & Dampeners & one way bearing on the gears though.

      I've always used Triflow, Fast Lad sells it BTW.

        I must confess that I used the grease that was in the little Align clear tube that was in the kit.

        Most of the Aligns, fair few Spektrum bits, bunch of Align & HiTec servos, OBE, VD & Bar.

          You can't go wrong with that martin.
          It's silicone grease for the one way bearing & dampeners.
          Although you can use it elsewhere on the heli too it's a bit sticky for use on any shafts.
          I just normally put a drop of light machine oil on the shafts after a days flying.

            cheers guys,
            how much grease do i apply to the feathering shaft,dampers and the bearing that are inside the blade grips?is it a light covering or do i smuther them?

              Personally I go for the thin film. The reason behind this is that, in most instances, the shafts etc are such a close fit that when you slide them into place the "good smuthering" will be scraped of anyway.

                  Thats the stuff i use also, is expensive but can be used on most parts of the build and ideal for dampers and feathering shaft

                    The Triflow stuff seems to separate in storage into a clear part and a white part. How do you mix it in the tube and does it really matter?
