  • A heartfelt apology...

    Hi guys

Just a short note of apology really. My earlier thread on flying in public parks may have upset some of you.

I do get up on my high horse sometimes (what do I mean sometimes - I should say most of the time). I have no right to lecture. For Christ's sake, I've only been into the sport since Christmas - what the hell do I know eh?

I've been known to go off on one before now too. My only defence is that I am genuinely only doing/saying what I think is right (but I may be wrong).

Safety is in my blood. It's what I do. How many other people do you know that has a heli log book? Signs off on every single stage of his build? Is about to put together a maintenance and inspection programme for his helis?

And if I come over as being a smart ass, then I apologise for that too.

I love this hobby and the people of this forum. My only regret is that I never got involved before.

    Have a great weekend.

It was once said to me that the main point of risk assessments was to get people to actually think about what they were doing, rather than just accept that the way they were doing things was fine because "it's the way we've always done it".

If these threads do that, then they've done some good---even though they do seem to go around in circles...

Less time keyboard tapping and more time flying.. might be order of the day

If that's all, there is to discuss.. then we must live in a very safe world

I understand your personal concerns... but hey I did 120mph in a 60mph zone today ... no one died.. gladly... see what I mean

Just make sure your flying safely.. and hopefully everyone else is too

Martin, if you've only been in the hobby since Christmas how the hell have you amassed 2503 posts? Have you got the keyboard strapped round your neck and a pair of those glasses that show your pc screen in them.

Can I ask a question about your signing of each build step in the manual idea? What happens when you crash and have to rebuild the model? - the build steps will already be signed off in the manual before you start Perhaps you should have photocopied the manual a few times before you wrote on it
                          Cheers Russ

I guess he just autographs it again
After a few crashes, he'll have a nice book full of autographs
