  • Some good news on my club!

    Hi guys

You may recall me posting that my club had it's licence suspended for the flying field that we use. Well I'm pleased to say that I got an email today pointing me at the club's home page that states:

"The Risk assessment has been passed, and the licence should be issued for flying from 27th June.

There are a lot of new conditions that you will all have to adhere to and anyone not wishing to comply will be asked to leave the club membership, Also anyone who would like cancel their membership to join another club Please let us know as soon as possible.

Please be aware that we now have to book the use of the field with the military and some weeks we will not be able to fly. So don't just think because you have a day off work or its a bank holiday you'll go and fly at the field, anyone caught or seen flying out of hours will be cautioned and persistent offenders will be removed from membership. Due to the hard work put into getting the field back we cant let people get away with not following the rules.

It is your responsibility to stop non-members from flying, you're paying to use the field not them."

Tis good news indeed. I just hope the new conditions aren't too restrictive.

Time will tell what the conditions are. I do have a "Plan B" just in case.
