  • Beam e4-has to go

well thats it for me, the beam has been an absolute nightmare for me (or maybe its me) ordered all the parts from when the tail exploded in the last hover. it was all fixed and loctited, everything was solid, straight and true. I was happy. went outside for a hover and all was fine, flicked it into idle up and bam the anti-rotation plat3 was ripped straight off and sent the heli down in to a mangled mess. so thats it ive had enough. im now fixing the heli as best I can with the parts I have so should be complete apart fom the anti-rotation plate which I dont have.
so does anyone want to make me an offer for the air frame with scorpion motor. best offer gets it

Sorry to hear that.. You really are not having much luck with it are you!??

The Beam has been out with me most days since the spell of good weather we been having. Been running through maybe 7 packs a day with it, and been really throwing it about. Heli has been ultra reliable for me, apart from a small mishap when I first got it..due to not checking the pre-assembled items, and not dissasembling it and loctiting everything. After that, I have had no problems whatsoever, and I am really loving this heli...

How on earth did the anti rotation guide get ripped out? Sounds that something must have worked itself loose, and knocked the guide off?

Got a pro aswell, but for me, it's taken a back seat at the moment, as I find the Beam so good to fly. Not fully confident with the servos on the PRO, as the reports of servo failure, and also having one fail on me within the first few flights has left my confidence in it quite thin.

In the end, both are good helis, and maybe the Pro may bring you better luck.

Cupracing I think if you'd bought a brand new one from box kit and built it yourself you'd have a different opinion, but all the same it must must be really frustrating ...... so I wish you luck with what ever 450 you buy.....just let us know how you get on...

..I was kinda tempted to offer my Pro for a swap.. but seeing that my pro has probably seen only about a dozen flights, I'm thinking maybe I'll keep it a while longer..
