  • Scorpian motor

Hi all had a motor failure on the beam at the weekend, Stripped the motor on sunday night had a broken shaft ,Orderd new shaft and bearings from fast lads on sunday evening they arrived tuesday morning, got home from work rebuilt motor nice easy job, Fitted it back in the beam spooled it up silky smooth hovering in the garden by 7-30. I had noticed just before motor broke it was sounding a little noisy, i thought it was the mainshaft bearing in heli was going to change them. but is so smooth i will leave them for another time. Just thought i would let every one know how easy the scorpion motors are to rebuild. And so much cheaper than buying new motor.

Yep, 5 minute job, and good as new. I like these motors, powerful but run nice and cool. And sounds just like a little turbine in my mini titan, marvellous, hehehe!

the 2221-8 i have in my beam runs very cool, even with me beating the hell out of it for 4 minutes with a rockamp 2200 35c pack up its arse! its virtually cold to touch on landing, unlike the std 450 pro motor which is super hot after 4 minutes of the same abuse.
