As all will agree who saw it, I am one lucky fella. Engine cut out on 600nsp in Tim's field practising inverted hovering or a flip (can't remember anything other than the moment the engine stopped!). Landed it on it's side in long grass.

Result? Broken skids, throttle servo and a crack in the side frame - all repaired very easily. Flown it since and flies like a dream.

My advice? Long grass is the way to go. No more wasting valuable flying time on the lawn at home either.

    Cheers

Indeed, I was up the field last week, lost orientation, hit throttle hold and landed in the crops.

Damage was.....none! Picked it up, straightened the blades and went back out

I remember last year in my flying field when the grass was literally 2ft high, I crashed my 450SEv2 four times and every time I did no damage, except a few chips on the blades.

The one crash as inverted and took me 20 mins untangling grass from the mainshaft until it was up for another flight haha.

If I crash in a field of long grass I'll manage to find the pile of bricks no one noticed until I crashed into them.

            ROLFMAO!

I completely lost control of my 700N on Sunday and it hit the ground inverted, going backwards at around 20mph, luckily the grass was 2ft high and very thick. Total damage? - set of blades and flybar, everything else survived unscathed including the Fusono V2 canopy

The down side is that inspecting the heli afterwards the cause of the crash was the Align 2 in 1 has failed, it goes down under the slightest load

                    Go Buy a lottery ticket.

I felt the same last week, I was trying out the the hover and land, in different 90deg facings exercise, at the edge of the mowed patch when the belt snapped and my 450 dropped, spinning, into long grass. Damage was ...snapped belt. I felt really lucky as I'd just been doing high (for me ) circuits and stall turns.

Let us know if your lottery ticket wins.

Indeed gazza, Since you have returned to flying the helis your flying has come on immense and as you know the best of the best crash their helis.

Get it stuck back together and lets see it flying again.

                        Simon.

Its always a shock when the fire goes out when flying but when inverted it always makes you nip the cheeks of your arse a little.

                        You did very well mate.

One of the guys in our club did a blade stop auto and never managed to get any headspeed back up, landed in 3ft long grass from about 25ft and the only damage was a broken ball link!

                              Talk about lucky lol
