  • What's it worth?

A colleague at work mentioned to me some time ago that his son had been given an R/C Helicopter for his birthday some years ago. Time passed and son is interested in Football and girls only so the heli has sat unloved in the garage for about four or five years. Knowing my involvement in the hobby he's now asked me to sell it. I've got a rough idea of what it might be worth but wanted to garner some more opinions before putting it up for sale.

    Package consists of:

    1* Hirobo Shuttle Plus
    1* Futaba FF6 35MHz
1* OS 32SxH with stock Hirobo Silencer
4* Futaba S148 Servos (Cyclics, Collective and Tail!)
1* Futaba S3004 Servo (Throttle - something tells me this was meant for the tail and installed wrong)
1* GWS PW01 Gyro (seem to recall this was a pretty basic nonHH gyro)
1* 1650MaHr NiMh pack (currently on cycle to see if it lives)
1* Cheap starter & hex shaft
    1* Futaba R138DF PPM 8ch RX
    1* Stock wood blades

I figure that as a going concern you wouldn't pay more than about £200 for that setup on grounds that although the engine is "new and unrun" the model most certainly isn't "as new". It needs a little TLC due to the period of storage but by and large looks sound as you'd expect for something thats not been in the air. Unfortunately none of the linkages have been upgraded which means the Fore/Aft cyclic is only a single link to the swash (it's unsupported at the rear) and all the key links like throttle, tail and collective have Z-Bends for the servo arms and plastic clevises on the actuators.

I have a feeling it would be worth more as bits than as a whole, but over to the committee to decide...

    Cheers

    Chris

£200 seems too much and £100 seems not enough! This is purely based on my Raptor 30 that I bought new/unflown for £150 that included Sanwa computer radio gear too, but no starting gear!
