How often do you grease your one way bearing in the maingear?

    Cheers

Which heli? some seem to prefer thin oil or ATF (automatic transmission fluid), I tend to use Triflow for these, for others some Trex's come with a tube of grease.

Never grease, but I do use lightweight synthetic oil whenever I think about it ! (maybe twice a year)

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

How bizarre this thread has appeared now.

Just finished putting some silicone grease in the one way on my main gear 15 minutes ago.

Depends on how often I crash, never replaced a one way bearing yet on the main gear. I have just stuck some lithium grease in there when replacing the main shaft.

The Trex nitro's used to suffer badly with locking one-way bearing, if you look very closely you can usually see a split plastic housing, the one that keeps the roller bearings in place.

Align have fixed this now, with a re-designed hub, mind you, I was probably the last person at our field that managed to get this resolved for some reason. . . . . . . I started to get a feeling of paranoia

Si, is your an old kit ?

on my 450, the one-way bearing sooner or later turned into a two-way bearing

Quite coincidental, this. When I landed after my last battery last night, I could hear a tick.. tick.. tick... I thought oops, one-way bearing on the way out. I stripped it down today, and it turned out to be the top main bearing - the one-way was fine!

You also need to replace the hub, that's the key to the problem fix.
