  • Bearings

Went out last weekend and my Titan50 developed a rattle, really sounded near the starter shaft, and would come and go. When I got home I stripped it down and sure enough the bearings on the starter shaft were shot. replaced all the frame bearings as you have to split the frames to change them and reassembled ready for today.
Went out today and had a different noise, everyone thought it would be OK but I just did not like the sound of it.
Got home tonight and stripped the engine and Yup the inner main bearing is absolutely shot. I was quite surprised as I have only done about 3 gallons through this engine since they were last changed.
Hope to finish assembling tomorrow and fly again, but for sure this has prompted me to build my spare engine so I dont have to do this again on a Saturday night.
Hope you all enjoyed today and have a great day tomorrow.

What fuel do you run and has the engine sat un-used for a while at all ?

using Model Tecnics Techpower 25, I try to fly most weekends, but dont always manage it.
I will be building my 600 soon, and will be using Optifuel on that as I want to try something different.

The bearing that holds the clutch failed today in my T-Rex 600 NSP. Of course, in a competition. Murphy's law holds...
I start to like this heli nonetheless: The clutch assembly can be removed without touching the engine, simply remove four screws. Try this with a Raptor!
Best of all, I had an Outrage 550 main shaft bearing "on stock" that fits. Hooray!

Check to make sure your clutch shoe ant starting to brake as they start to open up and grip the clutch bell just on tickover and starts to drag more. worth a check have a look
