Learn to land properly and you won't need them.. Gorrilla landing gear is a better option anyway............

Yeah, ideally you really need something to dampen the rebound.

I saw a different type of heavy duty landing gear some time ago but it was only for 450 size helis, which IMHO don't need such things because they are light enough that they just don't torque the struts like a bigger heli can.

I'd be a bit worried about the tailrotor hitting the ground if those flex very much.
