this sounds more like a Christmas list than a birfday present soldering iron. That 50W will do just fine mate - I use a Maplin 25W iron which is great for 450 size battery connections - the 50Watter will be perfect for the more hefty logo wiring. Yeah, flux might be a good idea to aid the soldering with the thick guage wire - gives you little extra time as the flux in the solder itself will burn off quick after applying to the nib, while you are busy lining up the wire to the connector if you catch my drift. helping hands - add them to your list too mate Helping Hands with Magnifier > Maplin - otherwise say goodbye to the skin on your finger tips.

Happy birthday inadvance btw lol Have a couple of heli flights on me.

Agreed - I never have enough hands when I'm soldering. However, take a look in your local "cheapo" shop. I've got one coming for father's day and it cost £3.25!

It's made by Rolson and looks a bit like this:

Most of the Aligns, fair few Spektrum bits, bunch of Align & HiTec servos, OBE, VD & Bar.

I think i'll get one of them myself later as it's cheap enough. However i do need some more metal on my 450 as some of the plastic has threaded. I need to find a gun metal grey metal boom block?
Yes the big sigpic is coming back
