  • Trvo - XTR Vid 09/09/2006

    Hey Guys,

Been mucking about on XTR (Phoenix is out of reach for me at the mo ) as I have no heli at the moment and thought I'd share the vid with you guys...there are some dumb thumbs in there but that's cos I am trying new things...

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9xbCS0Ya5k"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9xbCS0Ya5k[/ame]

I wanna thank the following people for helping me get this far in order of teaching:

My Grandad - For introducing me to helis and the hover.
Kingchopper - taking me from the hover onwards and somehow getting me to smooth out my flying...
Graeme from Hayling - Giving me the initial competitive streak to get me on the fast track to 3D.
Rspblake - For his help in making me attempt to perfect the manoeuvres and supporting me when times are hard (most of the time really).
Ade Law - For sorting out my transitions (ongoing) and giving me help on starting various new manoeuvres. Also a lot of help in stopping me blowing up many engines.

Last of all Quick UK for all their help in sponsorship and enabling me to be part of their wonderful flight team.

And a general thanks to all the guys at Hayling for their support.

All are continuing to help and I am giving back what I can, yet another example to promote the social and friendly atmosphere that this hobby brings...

Hope to be ready for some competitions next year, should be good fun!

    Thanks guys!

Can someone please explan to me how you setup the xtr so it will auto. When I flick my thr hold switch, I have about 2 seconds to put it on the ground. If not the blades stop. Just don't think I have the heli setup right.

Can anyone e-mail me with a well setup heli for xtr.

      Cheers

you can up the blade inertia which helps a lot but there is something just not right about the way reflex autos.

cant remember not used reflex in a little while.

increase it until the baby autos become resonable.

I made it , you'll find it at the bottom of this page on the forum that we do not speak of:

                http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/gallery/19867/

Other than the fact that it's a little more dosile than my current heli setup it seems to fly good.

Ade, you lot spent longer helping me than it took to write so I should've written more :P

                    Another thing,

Does anybody know why my xtr takes ages to resets itself after a crash? Also after about the thrid flight it freezes. Drives me up the wall. Can only fly it three times then I get bored waiting for it.

                    Cheers

Mine always crashes too, possibly a low spec computer???

Was thinking my graphics card is too slow.

Given me a new lease of life with the reflex though.

                        Nice one Trev

No probs, if ur pc struggles with XTR, you could move on to Phoenix, just as good but with better tech support at a smaller cost.

Another thing you might like to try on XTR is reducing the graphics res:

                          1. Choose Scenery Menu
                          2. Choose Panorama Resolution
                          3. Select 4080x2048

This will make the sim take up less resource. Also the following helps:

                          1. Simulation Menu
                          2. Display mode during simulation
                          3. 1024x768 16bit should get you running faster, also deselect vsync

Running less programs in the background will improve the loading time by a lot too...

and using the 3d scenery on reflex will help a lot too.
