A few days ago while flying at the Ely Flying Club I was pulling off some of the most exciting flying to date when while executing a nose up and tail whip up to come back down and so on... She lost all power and from 20ft hit the deck powerless in long grass.
To say the damage was bad is an understatement, the main frame was bust just about everywhere, where the frame broke it split the motor in two and the outer shell was warped and wouldn't snap back together, the AR6200 dead, and a badly damaged Li Po, mind you it was a bitch to get going period that day, why I have no idea, I just put it down to the odd glitch most things have once in a blue Moon.
The wires from the ESC ripped out, so the only salvageable parts were the tail gear assembly, main rota assembly, Gyro, and believe it or not the freaking blades, not a mark on them, now I ask you.......?
Had I pushed my ability's too far fair enough, but when one falls out the sky through no fault of your own, as I run a tight ship checking everything on all my birds at least once a week it's a right **** off.
My good news is I've purchased a second hand Trex SE V1 from Simply Trex with everything on it :-
I know have a small plastic container full of the saved parts so at least in her stead she'll keep me in spares for many years to come.
I just wanted to give her a good send off and share some much needed good news as well.
