I think there was a SKY Series which covered a build on one of these.. It was quite good actually!.. It was the same chap who did the car builds and some restorations.. Can't recall his name..

This was my single seater that I built - Mini 500
Was never permitted to fly here in UK ( BUT i DID!) and manufacture stopped at around 560 units. This is Mini 500 serial number 50.

thats quite cool, did you get much use from it ?

The missus has bought me my first lesson for my birthday so lots of working and saving required ! At £300 an hour its quite costly.!

I flew around 60 - 70 hours in total but could never get it passed on the CAA register so wasnt able to land in any controlled aerodromes. It had a 500 cc rotax 2 stroke engine. it was great to fly although there were many accidents in the states with people building and then thinking they could fly them. These were serious machine but needed a certain amount of engineering knowledge to build or improve the design. I personnaly modified many items and was more than confident to fly it - the balancing of the rotors was a job but really it was just a big model. Google:- mini 500 and you will see it had a chequed career although the idea was a heli for the masses affordable but lacking final R&D to bring it safely to the market. A few were fitted with solar turbines!
