Depends how deep your pockets are?

From buying a second hand Rappy 30 v2 to a new Elyq 50, is going to be a fair bit.

            Hi Danny,

I think if you're having to save hard to get a kit in the air initially...then getting it back in the air after a crash is gonna be a long painful process as well. Admittedly initial outlay for servos, electronics, engine and muffler etc you hopefully won't need to reinvest after a crash but for a 50-size heli each crash is about £100-£150 depending on your choice of blades and how hard it went in...is that sustainable for you?

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if its a stretch to get it airborne in the first place, expect to be scared to crash = slow learning = less fun.

            Just my opinion though

PS: My sig should say it all - I have too little money and time to get two of my three helis flying again! Practice what I preach eh?!

well thats the beauty of the ely-q a really bad crash should only cost about £200 cos thats the price of a COMPLETE kit and a cheap set of carbon blades..thats why i have a spare kit ready..

A used raptor 50 v2 or titan can often be picked up on ebay together with all the radio starter stuff.
These two look worth taking a look at becuase they come with new 2.4Ghz radios.

                ebay Item number: 120421799972

You can try bmfa too. there the helis tend to be the heli alone rather than complete with all the starter kit.
Used Raptors are going a bit cheaper than the 600n now.

With a used heli like this you are well advised to dismantle it completely and build it again as if it was a new kit. for a full set of kit you will pay a lot less than half the new cost, and maybe be less than half as scared of crashing it.

There's a nice knight3D ready to fly for sale on here in the classifieds of course

I have a rappie 50 but looked at others first, spares for the rappie are still plentiful, so that made up my mind, the ELYQ seems to take rappie parts though but not all of them, a rappie won the sportsmans last year so they can't be that outdated 3d willz ! Yeah I heard people say they are heavier than most other 50's but I have seen ones with carbon frames! and with the wind in this country a bit heavier machine is not a bad thing !
