  • How big is yours?

    Was just thinking about the size difference between models.

    This is my 1st heli a raptor 50 v2 and is plenty big enough for what I want it for.

    How much bigger, if anything, is a 90? meaning physical size Length etc. and what is the biggest flyable model heli??

    Size matters

    It just so happens a few of us gathered measurements of different helis recently to find out the size a heli case / bag would need to be. You can get a very accurate idea of the different sizes here;

    The biggest I am aware of are some of the vario scale machines with rotor spans around 2 metres. There are a few other large scale machines built around various mechanics and powered by petrol or turbine engines.

    About the biggest pod and boom machines around are the Bergins, the Century Condor, an Australian turbine that runs 900mm blades and perhaps the Vario Benzin trainer or acrobat.

          Yeah there is a full size remotley piloted thing for the military but that kinda doesn't count. Yamaha makes a big heli that is used for agricultural stuff and who knows what. It costs about 80 grand and is driven by something like a small motorcycle engine.

          That airwolf is friggin huge! You can't really tell exactly because the clip is so short but it's big.

            I have always though what would be very amusing is to scale up something like a Raptor to huge perportions but keep it all the same
            dimensions just scaled-up. So an enormous pod and boom heli with massive Raptor canopy and stock Rappy decals, prob a zenoah engine and the biggest blades it can handle.
