It means its a park flyer, You can fly it in the a park, Somthing like a HobbyZone Super club They are mostly 3 and 4 channel flyers, Lite and made from foam
I left the hobby 3 years ago and discovered Women.

    I wish I never left.

Fly my T500 in my local park. Very careful though, & it's a big old park. There's been some threads about this issue but as long as your responsible, insured, blardy blarr, it's ok with BMFA.
You can teach a man everything. Apart from experience.

hi for your bmfa insurance to cover you in any place there must be someone else there with you that has an A liscence with that particular model ie heli or plane you are not covred if you dont have this liscence urself or someone with you has one. saying this you dont need to have insurace to fly models but it is advisable in my opinion.

I personally this a 450 size heli is big enough for park flying.. be aware of you local bylaws though when flying in parks.. Health and safety laws maybe a concern where other people use the park..

Yes I fly my 450 beam in a park.. a very large park I must add.. and flying is permitted there.. for electric flight, a permit is required for nitro and BMFA insurance.. cost a fiver for the year with limited time frames

I think it depends on the size of the park.

My local park is far too small for a 450 to fly safely.
You could fly a small foam plane or a 250 heli but I wouldnt feel comfortable with anything bigger as there are houses all around.

Just make sure that if your on 35Meg there isn't a another RC club within 2 miles of you.

Ther eis no official definition of "park flier". Its just a term for an R/C model that is light and slow and can be flown in a small space.

Also, radio gear designated as "park flyer" has a shorter range.

So its OK, as long as you dont fly when its busy and just be aware of whats going on (dogs and people...Chav's trying to catch my heli)
                    Thanks,
                    Dan

(p.s havent got a 450 yet but my birthday in july and i think it will be better to save and get a trex (not a blade 400 or belt cp)

                    Thanks for all the info.

                      Hi Mark

You are not correct in what you are saying, there is no such thing as an A licence, the BMFA achievement scheme is a personal achievement scheme not a licencing scheme, and it has absolutely no bearing on insurance in any way. Also there is no requirement to have someone with you either.

The BMFA insurance covers you to fly absolutely anywhere as long as you are flying legally. So as long as there are no byelaws saying you can't, you are not breaking any of the stipulations in the ANO, you are using legal equipment and not breaking any other laws you are covered.
