New club in South Essex

I done the same.
Set up our feild as a registerd BMFA club BMFC (BERRY MEADOWS FLYING CLUB).
This was a few years ago now. We had a mix of planks and helis.
We no longer allow IC planks to fly here.
The reason for this is, The planks cover alot of air space and ended up flying quite a way out, we had one person moan to the council about the noise, We had a noise limit of 73DB set on us by the council.
After speeking with a guy from the BMFA we decided it best to close it as a registerd club, as the council didnt have as much power over just a group of mates haveing a fly togther.
We are now heli`s and elecy park fly planks only.
Helis 99% of the time are quite close to the pilot and not flying so far out, and as you guys know the park flyers are not noisey.
This might not be an issue to you at your site, but i thorght it worth mentioning as food for thorght.

I'd come along to your first open/opening event. You might as well make some money out of it too.

Why not have an RCHeliaddict open day. There's enough of us interested. Say £10 per person for the days flying. I'd pay that just to come along, meet other addicts & support your club. Might even bring Trillian along too!

Those of us in SE London are trying to arrange flights at sites all the time anyway.

Just a thought.

Good idea Zoombolt,I dont think there would be a need to charge as the membership fee would be enough just to get the club up and running.

It is good to hear though that people are prepared to help support the club and get it off the ground

OK,got the paper work here and basically all I got to do know is list the first 5 members and who is going to be doing what job in the club and that is it.We will be affiliated,100% a BMFA club

I have issued 9 places already as these have gone to people that I have or do fly with already.
Now,how to decide who gets the remaining places.
The fairest way I can think off to do this is to send out invites to those who are genuinely interested and basically have you along for a day as a guest and just see how it goes.
So if you are genuinely interested then please send me a pm now (even if you already have) and I will add your name to the list so when we are 100% affiliated with the BMFA and have all the relevant insurance's in place we can get this going.
I will make sure that all those who send me a pm will receive an invite and a fair chance at joining the club.
Please make sure that you include in your pm a contact number,email address and your name please.

As for a time frame on this,it is hard for me to say.I will make sure they have all the paper work back next week so then it is a case of waiting on them to get the certificate back to me to say that we are an official club.

I think that is it for now.

if you don't know then all you need is 5 members to have their bmfa membership registered to the new club
any other member can be registered as a member from another club or as a country member of the bmfa but does not need to have their bmfa through the new club
the bmfa do not need to know the full membership names or details but all members must have bmfa membeship so that the club is covered by the insurance

P.s Had the tractor and mower down the field and now it looks sweet.
Made a nice big flat area infront with a runway to the side coming on the the big area in front and a hovering area over to the right.
