  • header tank not working?

was ment to ask yesterday, i got a head tank on my 600, but before i crashed it yesterday i was pitch pumping and doing full thottle climb outs, and when i came down to check the temp of the engine the header tank was half empty and the main tank was still half full!! and ideas?

sounds like a split clunk link in the main tank. if you hadnt had a header, the engine would have quite long before you noticedyou had half a header tank left, so it is working, just something else isnt

possible the clunk line in main tank needs looking at could be sucking air due to small hole or split on the nipple when header runs down is usually a main tank clunk line problem

Definitely a problem with the main tank clunk line, classic symptom. . . . . . I crashed the weekend before last when exactly the same happened to me, typical it was downwind, with and out of sight landing on the auto !

Only broke the blades and bent the boom/torque tube.

Don't however just replace the main tank clunk line, change the header tank line as well

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

Depending on what tubing your using this stuff can go like jelly in no time, I change all my tubing approximately every 6 months ish(when I remember )

My main tank clunk fuel tube that came with the kit split twice on the first 2 flights with the same symptoms as yours. Changed it for some better tubing and its been fine ever since.

I'd put money on thats what problem is.

when I first fly a model or have changed the tubing just to check its all plumed right I fill the tank and then empty it through the header clunk with a hand pump just to check it all flows correctly and that I havn't split any pipes putting them together

mine fills up and emptys fine, thats why i was miffed, not that ive ever had a nitro before. i always fill up and emtpy the tank after flying to get the exhaust gases out the tank and it works fine then, just when flying
