Well, now back from the field. Hovered off my two lipos, increased the timer to 7 mins and hovered off the full 7 mins on the first battery without touching down once.

During the second lipo I touched down twice. The wind had got up a bit and I got a little to close to myself on one occasion, so set her down. The second time the wind seemed to get under the heli and lift her up a little higher than I was comfortable with. Even closing the throttle significantly didn't bring her down so I spooled her right down, set down for a couple of seconds and then went up again.

On these occasions, whilst I'm still TG on and tail in, I was intentionally moving her around the hovering square, taking her out to all corners and back to centre.

Excellent, different orientations and lazy 8s next then.

I was all charged up ready to go, when my wife had a call from work, she's had to go in to sort out a problem.

The sun is shining, only very light wind and I've no car. I need to sort out some way of carrying the 500 and gear on the back of my bike, I think I'm up for one of these hard heli flight cases next month.

Hopefully the Wx stays the same for later and I'll take both out for a play.
