Mmmmm thats not right

Had a heavy landing on my Rappy 50 over the weekend after the tail let go and started to spin, I was only a few feet off the floor and it broke the undercarriage when it landed.
I have been doing a few checks tonight (as you do) and noticed a particually noisy tail servo.
Took it apart and I may have an answer to the original problem



A distinct lack of teeth on the plastic gears in my BLS251.

Now off to try and find a supplier for some more. Happy Days.

Before you fit the new gears, do make sure you account for all of the teeth...

Are the end points of the servo set correctly?
(Its not binding at one end of the travel?)

I have flown this may flights, and the end points are fine, that was the third flight of the day so I dont really know what went wrong, needless to say I will be checking it all again when I get the gearset and reassemble the servo

just make sure not to get a bls251 gear set, they are about £35 iirc, the 9254 ones are about £7 and fit just fine

That is a difference in price. can anybody explain why??

it's because the bls gearset comes with the metal gears which you won't have damaged and therefore won't need. The 9254 gears are all the same size but all plastic. Just replace the damaged plastic ones and chuck the rest
