ok, as much as i think about this, the more it aggrevates me.
Some time ago, about 4 weeks before the Charmouth Spring Fly-in i crashed my minititan and stripped a servo, they were only Naro HP servo's so thought I would treat myself to some new ones. Something a little stronger and faster as well as being more upto date so to speak. I rang Fastlads for advice and asked about Futaba s3117's and Hitec HS56's. I was swayed to Futaba by the chap on the phone and promptly ordered 3 totalling about £51. well they turned up and one was faulty, it was locked solid and would not move, i rang Fastlads again and was told to send it back, I did. About 3 days went by and I had to ring again to chase it up . I was told that it would be a further week before i saw it again as it had to go to Ripmax for repair. Well, after explaining that this was a brand new servo and supplied faulty they said they would send another out that day... It was 6 days before i saw the replacement servo... NOT good so far.
It gets worse, i pranged the heli again and got onto the web straight away to find servo gears, couldn't find any anywhere so i contacted Ripmax who said that the servo had been discontinued and no gears were being made now, great!! 3 new servo's down the pan.. I saw Fastlads at Charmouth and expressed my concern that a customer who had spent a good few quid with them had been sold obsolete servo's on the advice of the shop, I was told that they would get me some gear sets and notify me when they were in, about two weeks they said.. to this day, I had not heard any more so again rang Fastlads today and was fobbed of with the same thing, "we'll get some gear sets" I have had enough now and will not be buying any further R/C gear from Fastlads. I will also make sure that members of my flying club are aware of this saga.
Thanks Fastlads for effectively taking my £50 and then stringing me along with tales.
Rant over..... hello TJD Models and Midland Helicopters.
