not done it low, well i did try once and got it a bit wrong and lost to much head speed, only tried it high, but haven't done one for a while.
Bobj is the auto master, he will be the one to ask

Not seen Bobj auto James but I'm pretty sure Richie Clark would give him a run for his money!!
Bobj was the first blade stopper i saw when he did a twin demo on the 700's with steve gerrald at st years masters, he is pretty good at them mate, in fact i am surpriced he still doesn't compete, is one hell of a pilot

I've done a couple of inverted autos with the 600, although they weren't pretty... audience loved them, though :-)
One tip: Add the flight info display in Phoenix and watch headspeed very closely, when it comes to the collective stick. In phoenix, you can do them without any collective input at all, and still bring headspeed up to 1800..1900 for a .90 model.
When I continue practising this, I'll flip -very- high, so that I can power out even if the blades stop (and: tighten blade bolts). For myself, I realized that I need to practise inverted flare in the sim.

Low inverted auto rolls are quite easy as you only need to flare as you exit from inverted to upright. Just minimal collective as you execute the roll. I've seen BobJ do them beatifully with a barrel roll from inverted and nice long approach to land.
Very low flips are a different story and the key is flare as you slow the heli down in the initial part of the flip. If you get it right you hear the head really wind up. At under 15ft you have no further oportunity to flare once upright so you only have the blade energy generated in the initial flare.
In fairness Ade Law does some of the lowest flips I've seen (probably 2ft). I have got them down to 3-4ft with the Knight 3D, but I haven't gone that low with the 700 yet. Someone needs to sponsor me for that
The latest trend is more of a pyroflip to land. I've been doing those a bit - good fun
99% of Aerobatic Autos I see in events and comps are usually the impressive low flip-outs of some desciption or blade stoppers, which don't need that much skill just big balls. Which are nice, but full-blown Aerobatic autos is a whole different area of the auto and very, very, very hard, hence why you never see them that often!

Also 90's are MUCH easier than 50s for all autos.
Might do some nice auto practise today if i have the balls, i know most of the time i flipped out of inverted autos and when i left it to about 10 foot high was when i messed up and got it wrong, think i will try rolling instead richiee
