  • where to fly SE London and borders

I am curious where others in this area are flying. I live in SE London and currently fly either at a work colleague's private field way down in Kent or at a club I belong to in Leatherhead.

The problem is that both are quite far and limited as to when you can fly.

It would help me a lot to be able have more options closer and / or on different days etc.

I see a few others here in London/Kent/Surrey so curious where you are flying.

(My back garden is barely big enough to hover a very small heli, I so wish I had my own field and could fly anytime I want)

Where is Wrotham hill? When I look for it in google maps I get a place in Surrey south of Guildford.

The other thing is, I need to be able to get there (or fairly near) by train, as I do not have a car

              The novelty soon wears off.
I have been flying helis for around 6 years now and to be honist i find it boaring on my own in our feilds.
Plus its not really safe, if i have an acident there is no one there to help.

Yeah I'm sure this is all true. The advantage though is the flexibility on time and lack of travel time and not having to wait for anyone else flying. Plus you can just fly for a few minutes and then go do other things. I'd like a space where I could fly by myself sometimes and just practice A cert manuevers, which would be terribly boring for any spectators.

There's Epsom Downs (inside the racecourse) near Tattenham Corner Station and North Downs Heli club not far from Redhill Station, on the junction of A25 and Coremongers Lane. Both in Surrey.

I was aware of the Epsom downs club but they require an A cert and I don't have mine yet.

The North Downs club is full and not accepting any new members.

An A cert is only required to fly on your own. You can still fly, but must be have an A cert pilot next to you on the flight line. There's usually somebody there who'd be able to help.
