2in1 glow

I started to have a problem getting the glow to light on one of my 2in1 regs. I checked out the earth to motor and everything and eventually traced it to the contact surface on the croc clip. This had become corroded.
A few stokes with a file on the croc clip “teeth” has cured it completely. I might change this croc clip for one of the P clip things off a remote glow lead sometime.
Just in case anyone else has this problem.

The problem is that the vibration of the running engine with the glow plug being powered actually causes the contact between the croc clip and plug to arc/make and break. By replacing this with a plug cap (presto plug) will prevent the arcing as the sprung contact should be better. Less likely to have a short from clip to cylinder head as well

you can buy new packs of crock clips from ebay for next to nothing if this helps.

That's the main reason why I changed mine to a proper glow plug clip.

The wire to the crock clip is a ittle short dependingonwhere you put the reg which doesn't help in getting the croc clip to stay on well.
However its all working for now so it'll do.
