Manager. it doesnt NEED upgrades, but i would fit the hub just beacuase it makes building it a bit easier, and the collar is £10ish for added security. The kits are the same money but i think the parts price are a bit cheaper on the N9. you pays yer money, you makes yer choice
wouldnt the world be boring if we all liked the same thing
like i say i cant comment on how the vibe flys so ill stay out of that argument

Similarly as stated, I too haven't flown the N9 so don't want to get involved in the which is better argument. At this level, there are some very good, well made and competent helis available and they all have their place in the market.
You certainly do pay your money and take your choice. It's not up to me or anyone else to dictate or judge what someone else spends their disposable income on in the pursuit of their enjoyment, but the bigger point that I was trying to make was that I've been seduced by the 90 heli for a few years now and have owned a couple of Millennium 90s and now a Vibe 90, but have come to the realisation that I am only a mediocre club flyer and what does my 90 give me that a 50 can't apart from much higher repair costs and a nervous disposition when I'm flying it? It certainly doesn't improve my flying as I am far from pushing a 50 to it's limit.JR Vibe Fifty fb (YS56)

Well it was late and i had to go to bed but i couldnt resist throwing the thought into the pot.
Both the JR and the Synergy are serious machines and i'm not here to fault either but for me the Avant is the one in this category now.
I'm just running mine in so it would be unfair to comment performance findings but on completing the build and doing a LOT of research before making the plunge i can give it a massive thumbs up so far.
This heli should be firmly in your consideration if your looking at a high end 90

Flown a Vibe 90 3D and a Sniggery.
In standard form for me the Synergy has it in fllight. I have since fitted a 4mm flybar and a set of Stubz and it's really brought it alive. It also looks better.
Where the vibe is better is in the engineering - the Vibe is beautifully made.
Both are way beyond my level of competence!!
Not flown an SG and dont really like to look of it.Cheers, Lee.

It's big money too Lee!! i would be nervous about a repair bill on the SG. The Synergy and Auroral are never going to be cheap but the JR spares are a lot of dosh in general.... but this has been discussed elsewhere
Your right about the looks of the Synergy... it is easy on the eye

I've owned both but never really got on with the Vibe much prefer the feel of the Synergy in the air.
Synergy is a great machine for big fast moves, tracks very nicely. Like Leebert I have also gone to Stubz on a 4mm flybar and it has certainly speeded up the response.
The Vibe is a beautifully designed machine, but for me the costs of the spares hanging over me always put me off chucking it about enough to justify having it.
Also sold my Vibe 50 for similar reasons
Would love to try an aurora next

JR spares prices are criminal, synergys are also high, aurora is getting more realistic and obviously a trex 700 is cheep as chips.
Lets just say, if i am practicing a new move or set manover etc etc, it would not be the aurora that tries it first, would be my 700 after the sim of course
I have owned a synergy and it did fly really well, eventually but did take alot of set up work, over about a 3 week period, but that was also my learning curve added in to that.James

For me, the Synergy looks great. But the lack of push pull and the short arms on the servos and bellcranks just dont float my boat. The tail was a constant worry after reading all the horror stories about them. I have no doubt the SE is a great heli (minus the push pull
) In modern terms the layout of the mechanics just seem old to me, almost Robbe Millenium style.
Buy an Aurora, you won't regret it.Last edited by Tom Burgess; 01-05-2009, 09:12 AM.Member of Byley Model Flying Club
