    Bruce Mead and Budget RC

    Hi Guys

    Having read some of the threads/comments about subject person/company, I just wanted to state the following:

    I emailed Budget RC this morning just to confirm I was buying the right balance board for my newly acquired Electrolite 6S battery. Bruce Mead had the decency to call me to give me the right advice on which board I should buy.

    Take this information for what it's worth but, in my limited dealings with him, he seemed like a decent bloke that, perhaps, lost the plot somewhat earlier in the year.

    It sounded as tho he was receiving stock now and was updating his web site accordingly.

    Whilst I'm not suggesting we should all rush out and buy from him, I thought it only fair I relayed this information to you.

    Nice one mate.

    They sell a good battery that's for sure, just a shame they run out so fast when in stock.

      I agree, i know that there has been some bad press but my personal experience was..

      Unhappy that Bruce took my money and promised a delivery dates that kept being missed.
      Didn't provide me with proactive updates over a period of 4 months.

      However, he did...

      Answer my emails.
      Offer me a refund three times.
      When i agreed to the refund, he organised that straight away.

      My recommendation to him was to be more proactive when updating his customers - perhaps a weekly news letter - esp' when he has your money. I would have no problem buying from him again but given the stock situation, i'd be inclined to ring him first and check that he can delivery straight away.

      The 6S batts i got are still giving me 8min flight times at 70% and no sign of deterioration after 60 cycles.

        I am disappointed with the lack of packs available on the site, but I doubt that's Bruce's fault if he can't get them.

        However, I did order some 900mAh 2S packs from his clearance shelf quite late yesterday afternoon and they arrived this morning, BRILLIANT service from my limited experience!

        PS. The packs were only £5 each, 20C discharge and they fit in the back of the DX6i, if anyone is doing the Lipo mod!

            can you explain what the lipo mod is for a dx6i and will fitting it invalidate your guarantee,do you need to change voltage regulator as you do on a dx7,

              Thanks for that......I have purchased 10+ packs from him over the last year........sometimes had to wait but knew that when i ordered and have always been very very pleased with price and quality....better then i can find elsewhere

              Bruce has always been more than helpfull and i will use Budget-rc again

                I think that, if Bruce is to regain our trust, he will need to work hard. I will be the first to criticise if a supplier fails to keep their side of the bargain.

                So Bruce, if you're reading this:

                1) never sell anything you do not have stock of
                2) never debit someone's card or take their money until point of despatch
                3) respond to any and all emails and calls in a timely manner
                4) if you know there is a problem with an order, contact the buyers BEFORE they contact you

                I think that if you adhere to these few simple rules, you will do OK.

                  He has known about the thread about himself, as he replied in one of them. He must have followed it, and realised the frustrations of the ppl on here, and then failed to reply again when the situation seemed to be getting worse. I think he has tried to bury his head in the sand on the last one.

                  With the 5000mah packs, he has had -14 before his last shipment of them, and it seems to still stand at -14!??? His site has the msg of lipos arriving in the next day or two for the last 1 1/2 to 2 months!..

                  ... and the msg of being out the office for the next two weeks has been there about 3 weeks!

                  ... Looks more like a business not really caring about itself.

                    Pip, just checking - I have some 2s 850mAh packs from my Esky Lama. I think they'll fit (Can't check, it's at HH for service) would they be OK?

                        Am looking at the 3S 2200 25C for a mates T-Rex, apparently in stock so may well have a punt on them.

                          Well, as I say, buyer beware and all that. Might be worth a quick call to ensure the stock situation prior to pressing buy, just to be on the safe side.

                            As long as they fit in the battery compartment with leads they will be fine. The battery compartment is

                            58mm Wide x 46mm high x 15mm deep.
