Just the one flight today with the Goblin 500 but thankfully been averaging 3-4 flights a day with it lately. Been flying it at the front of the house. I started just hovering but the neighbours now come to the windows to watch the flying now so it can't be that bad. Even have a few come up for a (socially distant) chat! The flies never stood a chance!

Don't have enough space to fly my bigger heli's near the house so built myself a little Oxy2 for the garden. Flying in a relatively small constrained space with a self imposed ceiling of not flying higher than the fence panels (I really don't want to have to ask the neighbors for my heli back) makes it challenging to do the basic stuff as there is little margin for error. Been practicing flying forward and backwards circles and moving around the garden whilst pirouetting which is something i've not really done before. Even tried a not very convincing and tentative funnel last night. Hope to move onto some inverted practice at some point but taking it steady because spares may be hard to come by if/when I break it.
For a small heli though I have to say I'm impressed with this little fella, much better than my old Trex250 from years back and I look forward to the day I have a little more space to play in again.

I took my 500 out to the park for the first time in years today. Absolutely great to fly a ‘proper’ heli in an open space. So much more fun than a micro. I now need somewhere to fly my bigger helis...Last edited by snotvis; 06-05-2020, 08:33 PM.Trex 700 DFC - Vortexted, TRex 600, OUTRAGE FUSION 50, 500ESP, 450PRO, 130x.

It feels like things are getting back to normal over here. I've had a few weekends of flying in a row and it's all coming back. I might even go and do some flying this evening as well.

I nipped to the field yesterday for a few flights.
It was a little weird to be there on a nice Sunday (okay, it was a bit breezy) and there be no one else there. I did meet a club mate who brought me something, and that was the first time I've seen any of them in 6 months.Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

Yeah, last Tuesday was only the 2nd time I have been to the club field this year. This time a few of the regular flyers were there and I had not seen them since about October or November!

I finally flew my TDR today. I bought it in August last year, and it's sat, and sat waiting for the best of weather. I missed the last opportunity back in May due to a school boy error in wiring.
Anyway, today it's finally flown. Maidened it with no canopy, as always, but 6S 5000 packs, but only 1300, 1500 and 1700rpm set up. It felt very heavy at 1300 and 1500. 1700 was better, but still heavy feeling.
Next flight I flew it on the 3300s out of my Logo 600. This was much better. 1500 felt more like 1700 with the 5000mah packs, and 1700 was quite peppy, and I did some mild aerobatics with it. Some big loops, a couple of inverted backwards circuits, some slow aileron tic-tocs, which it did effortlessly. This is probably how I'll fly it going forward. It was never bought to be beat on. It's a display piece that will get an outing when the weather suits.
In other news, I watched my mate Brian crash a Trex 700XN inverted, when the tail push rod pulled out of the bell crank ball link, and he didn't so much as crack his canopy, never mind break anything else! Amazing.
And now a pic, because it's so gorgeous. PS: - I shamelessly stole the canopy scheme after seeing Mike's at North Notts fly in last year. It looks incredible in the sun.
