Does Nuneaton Model Helicopter Club still exist? As I can not open thier website (DNS error).

Hmmm.... I thought that the membership costs much less than this

It probably could be not appropriate question, but...: Do you have another options (cheaper one, maybe less expanded) of membership?

I think thats roughly what you would expect to pay for club membership each year plus bmfa fees ... TBH some of us are spoiled and only pay £50 approx ... One club I was a member of was £90 a year plus bmfa fees .. The price is always reflected in the size of the field and the amenities that the club provides ... If you are moaning at paying that little amount a year do you really think this hobby is for you ??

Exactly what I was thinking. What you have to remember is the feild usually needs paying for, mowing/rolling, etc. £1.50 a week is hardly gonna break the bank is it?

My club (sadly i am only heli flyer) has a section of an old WW2 airfield on the coast of Pembrokeshire that has been returned to a local land owner/farmer. We have some sheep and cliff walkers to contend with at times and it can be a bit windy, but actual runway ! Fantastic views ! and mostly secure private area! Lucky? Spoilt? You betcha!! Get the sick bags ready£15.00 p.a. Membership.!
GIVE a man a Fish and he will eat for a day. TEACH him how to Fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day!!

White girls only for white guys, a Lady only for a Lord, a heli hobby only for rich guys... Do we live in the Middle-age? Don't you overstate it?

Is it not enough to have just interest and having fun/spend the time as you like/pleased...

Maybe I am not addicted as you are, but I like it and I will with or w/o being a club member.

                      Regards...

No I dont think it was strong .. I made a statement that reflected what he wrote in his about joining a club , then saying it was a little steep .. If he is looking at joining a club then dont you think he maybe looking for something more than a blade to fly ???

Rad .. No I dont think this hobby is for rich people .. I am not rich .. I work in a normal job with a family and a mortgage to pay ...BUT!! saying that if you are in two minds whether to pay the said £90 a year to fly then yes I think you are in the wrong hobby , unless you are going to stay with a blade and fly either indoor or own your own ... I have been paying for 2 clubs for the last 3 years that equate to alot more than the £90 , which gives me the freedom to fly at more than one site as well ...

I am not so much about flying on fields (as this are far a bit and there is many around my location which are ok for me, also I have no so much time). What I mean is mostly to met/discuss with some people, ask for an advice (as on forum, later on maybe to give some) few times a year (unfortunately not a month).

Btw. Is it not £100 (it’s just a bit less than my heli cost) half-year (or even more than this)? Maybe later in the future I will be after this, but for now is too much for me.

Ahh I get you now .. You want to go along to a club to watch, ask for advice but not fly at the said club ?? .... Most clubs will let you go down as a guest now and again if you want to watch for free .. Clubs I am member of are the same .. plus you normally get 3 times at the club before you have to join which is a bonus as well ...

I was not meaning to say that flying is for the rich, it is not .. most of us that fly have given up something else to stay in this hobby .. Alot of us fly 50 size and above as well which can equate from n e where from £700-£2000+ so you can see where I am coming from over the comment about is it the right hobby for you ... It was not meant in n e way to try and stop you flying or enjoying the hobby .. First and foremost you will need insurance whether flying elec or nitro ... £28 a year ..
