  • Exhaust Painting!

    Hey all,
I need to paint my powerboost pipe black.
I was thinking about using PJ1 Fast Black which is rated up to about 800 deg C apparently but I was worried about it sticking to the aluminium pipe without any sort of primer.
I was thinking to hit the pipe with some fine wet and dry first and degrease it with acetone before painting.
Any of you tried this before or have any insights into such things?
    Cheers
    D

      Aye Lee,
Could easily make a RIGHT mess of this like!!
      Here's hoping not!
Looks like the PJ1 1500F product would easily handle the temps but not sure if it can be used on aluminium, have emailed PJ1 and asked the question!

I've been looking into this, there's a local coatings specialist offering cerakote coating, various colours, will stick to metals, alloys, plastics and wood apparently, expensive though
