  • leaving lipo packs fully charged

As I stripped the main gear on my 500 I'm left with two loverly 5s4200 revolectrix packs fully charged - and I'm going away until after easter.
So should I mess about wiring pairs of 50w halogen light bulbs in series to run them down a bit, or should I just leave them?
Anyone got cute tricks to take 2000mAh out of 5s packs without a running heli?
(I guess I could take the main blades off and run it a but the skip bite on the main gear won't do the scorpion bearings much good).
...probably 12 days fully charges in a nice warm house won't harm them eh?

I always left my 3s revolectrix fully charged between flights anyway for 2 years now one of them, and they are all still going well.

        I wouldn't worry about it.
They'll probably have about 95% charge left in them when you get back
        Cheers,

I always leave mine fully charged, so that I can go fly at the drop of a hat.

i leave mine charged most of the time as long as they are kept warm and not allowed to get cold they'll be fine (by cold i mean left out in a shed/car over night sort of cold)

You could always sell them to me. I'd give them a good home!

just leave them charged, will be fine if the place they are stored is reasonably temperature stable.

Bugger! I didn't know that. My helis and all the associated kit lives in the garage.

Could get a lipo bag and leave them in there just in case to be safe. And store them in a temperature stable environment.
Or you could just disconnect the motor from the gear and just run the motor through until you get some juice out of them =)
