  • Spartan vortex vx1

Morning everyone hope you are all well.
I have a question about my vortex vx1 that i have
set up , i have set up plenty of the normal units but this one is the full size version.
My problem is when I power the unit up it initializes with the servos jumping but i noticed that the tail servo does its thing and the tail slider ends up right over to one side that has to be put back in the centre with the stick on my tx .
Everything set up fine with no trim on the servo and end points 100 both sides.
Not tried in the air yet due to lockdown but just looks a bit odd as i haven't seen this before.
    Thank you.

Check you have your gain set to the correct channel. I had this problem with my VX1e recently when I changed over to my New DX9.

The setup is exactly the same on all the Spartans. I started with the original VX1 and have had the VX1N and VX1e. (possibly sensor calibration could be something different between the VX1 and other variations, but that's irrelevant to your issue).

Sorry I was getting confused, I've just reprogrammed 7 helis 4 of which are flybar. Check your gains I think mine are in the 20%. I can't get to them at the moment but when I can I'll check.

Just to add... if you moved from V3 to V4 firmware, the tail gyro gain calibration changed. So on V3 on my helis it was always around 30. For V4 I had to go up higher for the same equivalent gain.

Did you tie your flight modes correctly to a switch and link your gyro channel? If not the gyro will see 100% gain and push the tail servo to one side if i remember correctly. You will see that clearly on the datapod. Also having the wrong tail servo frequency set can do similar things.

Hi thanks for the replies from everyone. No flight modes set and yes the the tail servo is correctly selected , i even did a complete set up from scratch even a different position on the tx .
one it initializes i put the tail back to centre and it works as it should on the bench. Will need a try in the air and a trim flight.
