What type of Club do you fly at....

with the Talk of the BMFA news mag lack of coverage makes me
think where do we all fly from what type of Clubs or not....

Hopefully flying at my new field with 3 plank flyers and 1 Heli flyer on Sunday for the first time.

Totally laid back bunch of chaps who enjoy flying wether it be planks or rotating planks.

I'll let you know on Monday how I got on.

Nice to be flying with some other like minded people again.

They're both aircraft.... I don't like this 'plank' think. I shall have to think up a suitable monika for helis - 'egg whisk' has always been on the cards...

After years of hatred for the club mentality that you get at most places I have been extremely lucky to have found a place without any of the silly politics!

The club I now belong to was formed specifically top get away from the political back bitting crap that some clubs seem so fond of, or if you prefer the Gimmer Mentality.

There are few club rules.

No one will ever get voted onto the commity other than the 3 founding members so no wannabe politicians will get chance to mess the club up.

You can fly ANYTHING there, plane, heli, nitro, electric, jet, sea plane, scale, foamy, parkflyer ANYTHING is encouraged.

The fouding members were sick of turning up to have a day's flying only to be confronted by hanky wearing whingers before even stepping out of the car.

The club rent's it's own field, we can drive into the pit area and set up in the back of the vehicle, locked gate, no houses too close by, unlimited flight area ahead, only slightly restricted to the left and right.

Before I had even paid my membership (which is less than half the cost of other clubs) they had made us feel welcome and even invited us to go and fly on the day we went to check out the field, they have also offered to let us organise fly-ins and even suggested we carve out a track in the grass to play with buggies on!

Some new houses have been built closer to the field but as yet no noise complaints, and even if they do the club has another couple of fields lined up to move into immediately!
