  • FS8 Co-Pilot Autopilot

I have just seen an FS8 Co-Pilot RC Helicopter Autopilot on eBay.

This seems ideal for a new pilot to get started flying without crashing.

Has anybody any experience of using one of these?

    Hi and welcome to HeliAddicts.

Personally I would stay away from autopilot gadgets. Get a sim such as Pheonix or Real Flight and learn on that. You can also add training balls to your heli and take slow steps in learning to hover.

Go the Phoenix sim route mate.

Learn to fly on your computer and then you "should" be capable of hovering a heli for real when you get fixed up with one.

had one before tryed it these things will not help you lern how to fly , they are more for camera ships where high altitude hovers are needed , you would be able to hover about with it but it wont be you thats flying it so you wont lern how to fly with it your money would be better spent on a sim and spare parts , dedicate a few hours a week on the sim once you got hovering master'd on the sim you will be able to hover for real , if you can get into the mental frame of mind that you can do it on the sim you can do it for real you will progress faster than any amount off electronic wizzardry can offer you

Thanks for the advice, this is pretty tempting though as I have already tried the simulator route without much sucess.

Can't seem to find anybody offering lessons in the Sout East.

              Hmmm

Ive tryed two aps you I didnt think that they were of any benefit apart from quite a hole in the pocket, a member of my club said to me one day just ite the bullet not financially but mind set. Get up in the morning set to fly 1 gallon and dont stop till youve done it, personally hes right and the other guys are right with sims however it is all subjective and its what you are comfortable with
