  • 1 o-ring, 2 shims a smidge of Loctite and I'm airborne again!

Just finished another mammoth session after the Blade400 became the 'Bladeless400' on Saturday. It needed 2 servo rebuilds, control rods straightening, new flybar rocker, a washout base and lots of TLC, but it's really satisfying to see it almost airworthy again!

So, I've just got to hope that my local shop gets the 3 teeny weeny little bits I need before the weekend (I have a back-up plan though)!

Happy days are (almost) here again...

Hmmm... just realised I've spent far more time fixing it than flying it! Hopefully all that's about to change!

    F@*k, that sounded bad...

Blinged Blade CX3 - Still couldn't fly in to a fart

    Phoenix 2.0 for rainy days

Good work!! Got my B400 back together and did a test hover before dark and seems ok, also got the 3 cyclic servos in the T-Rex 500 tonight, slowly getting there. May nick the Rx out of the blade to try it until I get some spare cash for some more parts.

Well done. Hope all goes well with you this time. You'll soon reach a stage when heli always flies and no crashes!!

By the way, you can always order parts on-line which I do and they normally delivered within 1-2 days. That way you can be sure you'll have the parts, you save petrol costs and save time which you can spend to get the heli ready quickly.

          Got the Loctite...

A nice little tube of 243 lock 'n seal...

Still no shims or o-ring though, but hopefully they'll be in stock tomorrow if the delivery comes in. The good thing is that now I've stripped and rebuilt the head twice, with lots of tips and advice, I'm more confident that there's nothing barring a mechanical failure left to go wrong!

          Touch wood...

I can't wait to complete the RADD course and get flying. The other good thing is that a rebuild holds no fear for me now, so I'll be less concerned about binning it, or less upset when I do at least...
