  • Which one??!!

Looking at buying a new heli next week...but which one, heres my choice..Trex 450 v2 with all the goodies or the Beam!
Trex has more add on and painted canopies etc, Beam getting good reviews on here etc. What do we all think?
Or i jump up to a Trex 500....good or bad idea? guess that one comes down to costs ie repair /batts etc.
Would welcome your views etc thanks

Forgive me for asking but what is your experience level? Is this your first heli, or are you a "seasoned campaigner"?

    Martin

Most of the Aligns, fair few Spektrum bits, bunch of Align & HiTec servos, OBE, VD & Bar.

In that case I'm in a similar position to you and would support machasm's response. I bought the T-rex 500 and am almost complete with the build.

I took advice from here and Helifreak and it lead back to the 500.

Battery cost is an issue on the 500, depends how much cash you have spare.
You could have a 450 up and running with 3-4 batts for the price of one on the 500 if using a 6S.
My choice beten the 450's is deffo the beam, but the 450 V3 is due soon.
500 will be easier to fly, more stable in wind
To be fair the choice is yours mate, go for what you like

If i was contemplating a 450 i wouldnt do anything until the new Align 450 Pro is released next month it seems.

The 450 is where Aligns heli enterprise all began and i am sure they wont dissapoint and surely it will release without issues this time...

T-rex 500 is way more stable.... Far better machine to learn on and its a nice machine to fly handles the Wind a lot better as well not as twitchy etc etc

Repair cost... if you worry about the crash costs you'll never advance so you need to put that thought to the back of your mind.

T-rex 500 cost is what 70 pounds a battery thats not to bad if you ask me.

you'll still end up spending a bomb setting a heli up from scratch if you buy new be it a 450 or 500.
