  • Innovator

I have just received the Innovator PC software Installer Pack which includes the cable, USB (for PC) to mini USB (for helicopter).

I have searched the e-manual on the cd supplied with the Innovator and am at a loss to see where the cable plugs into the Heli. Can anyone, please point me in the right direction and explain where the socket is? I do know where to plug it into the TX to use the simulator.

    Thanks.

        Matty,

Thank you so much for coming back to me so quickly. I think you have solved the problem for me as my poor old eyes can now see the socket on the port side of the model.

        Best wishes.

            Same here.

It would be interesting to find out how you are getting on with it and how much heli experience you have.

Mine is the MD 530 and I do agree it is a great looking machine and considerably bigger than the Align 250 and also, possibly, the 450.

Believe it or not, I have been into model helis for about 30 years, with a long break of some 10 years whilst elec models arrived and I came back into the hobby again with electric models about 3 years ago and have had to learn it all again. I never got any further than flying very slow and gentle circuits. I think I can probably set up most machines to hover fairly well. My present fleet consists of the Align 250, 450, 450 and 600. I also have a Mikado Logo 400 and 600. I play with a Mini Titan and also a second one with Helicommand. I have tried the Hirobo Quark and Mini Pred and also a Blade 400. There are no local clubs that are prepared to accommodate me as I am 70 years old and retired. The most local club only want youngsters, so all my heli activities have to happen in my own garden. I have also 3 Walkera little babies including the 4G3 and am waiting for a few still days to try them outside as my own house does not have big enough rooms.

I will be very happy to post a few notes on my experiences with the Innovator, particularly as I have recently made arrangements to fly in a local community hall on a regular basis. All great fun but a little lonely on my own. I did offer one or two members of the club I can't join the opportunity to give the hall a try with me, but no one seems interested.

Sorry the above is a bit long.

Perhaps I should say that when I can pluck up the courage I intend to try my hand at the Mikado V-Bar.

                  Good wishes.

                  Louis

hi Louis, that is plain ignorant like steve says. can you name and shame the club.

i think if you flew planes you wouldnt have any trouble joining a club at all as most the people in the bmfa are over 80 and only fly planes. is this club a heli only club or is it planes and helis?

start another thread i see if you can find any heliaddicts in your area that you can fly with because im sure you'll get a response.

reading you post above it sounds like you know your way around a rc heli or 2
good on you - keep at it

ps - do you have the phoenix sim? if not maybe you should think about getting it and you can come on there in the multiplayer sessions that heliaddicts host most nights.

                      cheers

                            Hi Matty and Mike W,

Yes, I do have the Phoenix sim and have a lot of fun with it.

I should add that the nearest club to me said that membership for "seniors" is closed but juniors are welcome to join. I wasn't quite 70 when I was told that, but the point was obvious.

What a lot of support is available through this forum and it is a great place for us oldies.

I really don't want to name the particular club, some of the youngsters might get upset and short out my lipos if they see my car!!!!!!

                            Regards,

                            Louis
