  • Thinking of downgrading

    Right guy's

I'm thinking of downgrading from a Trex 600E to maybe a Trex 450 , Mainly because of the cost of the packs. Its never been crashed ,bumped or anything . To be honest its my pride and joy and i dont really want to get rid of it.

    My current setup is

    600E G/F (Silver)
    Z50 Motor 16T Pinion
    Stock 75Amp ESC
    Stock 3Amp BEC
    Futaba 3152 on Swash
    Spartan DS760 /9254
    Futaba 35Mhz reciver
    Metal Bearing Blocks
    Metal Main/Tail Blade grips
    Metal Tail pullies
    Radix Main Blades
    Radix Tail Blades
    Radix Paddles
    1 x Flightpower 6S 3700 like new maybe 15 cycles
1 x Thunderpower 6S 4500 old performs ok but has to be charged at 1.5Amp Max

So whats everyones thoughts stay with the 600 and just work harder or sell the 600 and go for something smaller .. Also what sort of price should i ask for the 600 without the Gyro/Tail servo

The 600 is the better machine to learn on.

Size makes it more stable, handles the wind better...

Keep the 600e and just invest in batteries when you can Maxpoly do some for the 600e for 124 pounds or something close to that.

    Keep the 600e

I think you are likely to lose money on the 600 when you sell it.

How long does it take to charge a pack for the 600?

i have just got a 600e far better than a smaller 450 heli in regards to stability.

        however,
if you can fly a 450 then the 600 will be a breeze to fly.

id work harder and fly the 600

Ebay's full of s/hand 600e's and they are'nt selling for much compared with your inital outlay.. better keeping what you have and saving like crazy for batteries... it's a far better heli anyway

Thanks for the advice ,I love the 600 but the packs are the killer i wish i had took the nitro route now.. But thats another story.

I know i would get next to nothing if i sold the 600
So work harder it is then.. or sell a liver/kidney how many packs do you recon i could get for a liver/kidney?

It depends on how many beers you drink

Cur down on the beer and you will have more money to spend on cells, and if you still cant afford new cells your alchohol free organs will be worth more money

              hehe

If you sell it you'll regret it. A 500 would have been a slightly cheaper option with the benefits of good handling, but a 450 would seem like a toy by comparison and not worth the loss you'd make. Work harder is the way ahead, and pray for a reduction in LiPo costs.

Keep an eye on this one on Ebay .. I know it's of a lesser spec than yours but it will give you an idea how the markets changing...

and like I said before, the heli is a good one .. but sadly if you can't fly it due to lack of funds for batteries..it might as well be crap..

I only have 22 bateries for my two 450's... and can fly all day long and bought from HK 2 for 25 quid delivered, they are a bargain.. sorry

I did say sorry at the end........

I would love a 500.. but again it's the running cost per flight that stop me buying one

                        just can't justify it sometimes

running costs????? a 450 would cost somewhat the same to repir as a 500..plus you got 22 batterys you could double up your packs so thats 11 500 packs..
