good old royal fail!! i posted a canopy to lee last monday it arrived safe and sound on thursdayat my bloody house!!!!i still cant work out why as the posty handed it to my son and was gone
reboxed and posted friday and lee had it saturday morning.......brilliant service rm...not!!!

you can claim upto £32 from royal mail if the parcel got lost even if its was not recorded so should be able to get the money for the receiver back. looky here http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/c...diaId=80300750

Recorded costs 72p more than the cost of sending your parcel via first/second class.
First and second class are insured upto 100 x the cost of a first class stamp (currently 36p x 100 = £36). You need to get a certificate of postage (automatic when using recorded delivery) from a post office counter at the time of posting otherwise you're knackered. Unless they're in a good mood.

Remember that RM does not track even recorded so you never know where stuff might be at any time.. Tried to find a rec deliv parcel.. they didnt have a clue where it was.
Although it costs a bit more to send special delivery at least its tracked and can be seen on line.
Have always had decent service doing this and at least RM have to keep a log of a parcel's progress.. AND you get better insurance
