  • Peed Off Day :@

    Well,

Went flying just a few mins ago, and tried tuning the engine correctly again.. No luck, and i notice a screw it loose where the engine mount is, so i take the muffler off only to find the damn thing has melted into the muffler slightly deep but not breeched it, so i tighten that up, then i bloody noticed the ****ing Nipple screw is gone, so thats gonna help a bunch with tuning, then aload of crap gets on the muffler and burns it in,

Now i flying and then The BLOODY MUFFLER HANGS OFF! and im loosing some power so i hit throttle hold and glide it down... so ive lost a muffler mount screw.. an burnt my finger

Not Bleeding happy, but got some good digi cam shots non the less,

So, gonna order a new muffler possibly i do have a spare muffler mount screws, but not the nipple screw underneath the muffler.

    Morale is? use locktight.

its running way to lean and each time i go to tune it, it doesnt make any difference , and the muffler is like red hot. lol

engine might be ok callum. it could be a number of reasons why it wont tune and keeps running lean. for starters - the exhaust coming loose and not sealing and the nipple on it will make it run lean. might be pulling air into the fuel system/tank/fuel lines. back plate on the engine might be loose and not sealing. id check all these things b4 looking for a new engine or exhaust. make sure the glow plug is sealing aswell.

dont use the little exhaust gasket - use a small layer of expoxy instead and get some longer exhaust bolts from fastlads and put nuts on the other side with a locking nut on there too to stop it coming loose. get a new nipple for the exhaust and epoxy that in aswell.

you need to stop this air being drawn into the system or you will never get it tuned and it will always run lean.

            cheers

Zimmerman and TT pipes are the only ones that will fit without some form of alteration to the standard canopy. ie cutting it out a little.

personnally I didnt like the way either of them tunned the simmerman kept going off, and the TT just never rally sang at all. I ended up getting one of the 3d raptor canopys, which any muffler will fit without the need for cutting/modifying.

but then if you either go for different canopy or alteration(which can be done very neatly) then the world of mp's or hatoris open up.
              All the best
              Tony.
