  • Help! I can't seem to sort my wiring!

    Hi guys

Well I bought some of the spiral wrap from Maplins and I'm in the process of sorting out my wiring on the T-rex 500. There seems to be far too much cable from the servos. I don't want to cut them and was wondering how you guys sorted it.

It also seems that, if I use the spiral wrap on the full length of the servo cable, it seems to make matters worse by making the cabling bulky.

Please share your wiring techniques with me, illustrated by photos if possible.

I'm tearing my hair out here...

    Martin

Most of the Aligns, fair few Spektrum bits, bunch of Align & HiTec servos, OBE, VD & Bar.

Forget the spiral wrap Martin, Been there and struggled myself.

Just make sure you fold the cables neat and make sure they arnt nipped anywhere when securing them with cable ties.

They can be made tidy with a little time.

As he guys say just zig zag the wires and tie wrap them. Although most servo wires seem way too long there is always one that is only just long enough (so thay have to make them that way!).

Where the wires pass over the enge of the frame be sure to smooth the sharp frame edge off, and perhaps also put some tape round the wire.
The photos are good but getting an actual look at another 500 will help a lot.

Fact is Ron my 500 has always been slightly tail heavy so while trying to acheave a reasonable balance I suddenly saw the chance to move everything forward and hide the wires.
