More stolen helicopters

What is it with the South of England and July? Here's a copy of an email sent to our club treasurer;

"Hi,

I wonder if you would let your club members know of these recently stolen models. They are RC Helicopters that have been stolen from the Maidstone area, overnight 10 - 11th July. The items stolen are:

1 - Predator Gasser, Pod and Boom, Fluorescent green canopy.
2 - Predator 60, Pod and Boom, Fluorescent orange.
3 - T-Rex Helicopter, white canopy and silver case.
4 - Futaba Transmitter 14 Mhz, in a silver case.

May I also take this opportunity to ask that you encourage your club colleagues to ensure their security is up to scratch.

If anyone hears anything, if they could give me a call I would very much appreciate it. (01795 419 225)

I know a member of the maidstone club, who has similar equipment, but I don't think it's his stuff. Anyhow if you guys are offered anything resembling this, please let the police know.

Sounds like they knew what they were after and it's not just opportune burglars. I'm affraid it just shows how this country has gone to the dogs. No punishment or deterant, just all makes for one very sad outlook.

I had a load of models stolen last year.

Amazingly, they caught the guy - he left his fingerprints everywhere.
Turns out he was a 16 year old druggy with a record.
He was arrested, and convicted, and his 'community sentence' increased by 6 months. He was also ordered to pay me £500 comensation.

Now, him being a burglaring drug addict, he doesnt have any money - so, strangely, he hasn't paid me anything. Also, him being a drug addict, he hasn't done any of his community thingy.

Upshot of all this is that he has a new warrant out for his arrest.
But... he has no fixed abode, so not likely to catch him is it.

Now apparently, if he is caught and imprisoned, I forfeit my compensation.
If he is not imprisoned, he can have his social security stopped to pay me - but only £5 a month. For that, I'd rather he had gone straight to prison...

Good on the police for catching the little git, but what a waste of everyones time doing so....

Where would you go? The grass is not so green on the other side and if it is there is a big water bill to pay. I am origanally from South Africa and would never think of going to live there again. With all the mis-givings that the UK has, it is still one of the best places to live. I just need to do something about my accent now.LOL

To those of you not familiar with Joe Arpaio he is the Maricopa Arizona
county sheriff and he keeps getting elected over and over.

These are some of the reasons why:
Sheriff Joe Arpaio (in Arizona) who created the "tent city jail":
He has jail meals down to 40 cents a serving and charges the inmates for
them.
He stopped smoking and porno magazines in the jails. Took away their
weights, cut off all but "G" movies.
He started chain gangs so the inmates could do free work on county and
city projects.
Then he started chain gangs for women so he wouldn't get sued for
discrimination.
He took away cable TV until he found out there was a federal court order
that required cable TV for jails. So he hooked up the cable TV again
only let in the Disney channel and the weather channel.
When asked why the weather channel he replied, so they will know how hot
it's gonna be while they are working on my chain gangs.
He cut off coffee since it has zero nutritional value.
When the inmates complained, he told them, "This isn't the Ritz/Carlton.
If you don't like it, don't come back."
He bought Newt Gingrich' lecture series on videotape that he pipes into
the jails.
When asked by a reporter if he had any lecture series by a Democrat, he
replied that a democratic lecture series might explain why a lot of the
inmates were in his jails in the first place.

With temperatures being even hotter than usual in Phoenix (116 degrees
just set a new record), the Associated Press reports: About 2,000
inmates living in a barbed-wire-surrounded tent encampment at the
Maricopa County Jail have been given permission to strip down to their
government-issued pink boxer shorts.
On Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing boxers were either curled up on
their bunk beds or chatted in the tents, which reached 138 degrees
inside the week before.
Many were so swathed in wet, pink towels soaked in sweat collected on
their chests and dripped down to their pink socks.
"It feels like we are in a furnace," said James Zanzot, an inmate who
has lived in the tents for 1 year. "It's inhumane."
Joe Arpaio, the tough-guy sheriff who created the tent city and long ago
started making his prisoners wear pink, and eat bologna sandwiches, is
not one bit sympathetic He said Wednesday that he told all of the
inmates: "It's 120 degrees in Iraq and our soldiers are living in
tents too, and they have to wear full battle gear, but they didn't
commit any crimes, so shut your damned mouths!"
Way to go, Sheriff! Maybe if all prisons were like this one there would
be a lot less crime and/or repeat offenders. Criminals should be
punished for their crimes - not live in luxury until it's time for their
parole, only to go out and commit another crime so they can get
back in to live on taxpayers money and enjoy things taxpayers can't
afford to have for themselves.

Mack, If I could afford to up and leave it would be Oz or the US, got to be somewhere with a bit of space, this country's over populated which is half the reason we have so many problems - crime, hospitals, water shortages, not enough housing, grid lock. All boils down to the fact we have to many people living on the island IMO.

You have a point there Fixxxer. The gates were opened here and someone has forgoten to close them allowing all sorts in. The US sounds good. a big Ranch in the middle of nowhere and we can fly all day every day.
