  • 600 Nitro progress thanks to forum support

    Gents,

just a big thanks to the guys / gals on here for the support recently helping me to sort out some stuff with my 600 nitro to get me flying right.

I boiught the heli off a great guy on here who met me half way with a long round trip and then was patient whilst I went to a bank to get some more cash as I could not get it all from an ATM....idiot..(me).

I managed to trash the os 50 when I upped the headspeed and it must have made it run lean....new motor fitted by me, lots of research on here resulted in a good run-in and a good setup. Then I had a tail wag from the gyro, again, great support on here to get me setup right again.

I have now flown 2 gallons through her and she is a dream. I am doing lovely slow loops, rolls, flips etc and fast sport flying. I must say that it is so much more precisee that my 450 electric as you can "see" where it is.

Forward flight rolls only need a touch of negative tio avoid and drop in height - lovely......

    Near misses.....

Had to do and auto from 50-60 feet up twice yesterday when the motor cut out for what seemed like no apparent reason. At first I thought I hade done the motor again but coould not see how as I am eagle eyed on the temperatures now with frequent fingr checks as recommended on here. Checked the heli over, no obvious problem, glow plu ok etc. Started up and flew her around a biy all ok. Then 50-60 feet up, it happened again.

Well, I have leared how to auto quite well now which is handy, turns out that it was the internal fuel tube in the fuel tank which had become detatched which meant that it could only get fuel in certain orientations.

    easy fix - 2 mins.

thanks again all, this is now a pleasure!!!

Do you know if the fuel tube in the tank is the same one that came with the kit???

If it is then change it as mine did the same thing twice as well on my newly built 600, no damage either time but a bit of a butt clencher! The tube was actually splitting slightly at the end which let it fall off.

Changed the tube and never had a problem since.

I think this would have been the kit one, it has now split at both ends..
