I was jokin about plank fliers as everyone on this site does.Thats why i put the smiley at end laughing as it was a joke.Sorry if i offended you and touched a nerve. As i fly planks with my friend and also have 'real fixed' wing time flying with the RAF i havn't a problem whatsoever with planes as it was this that got me onto helis.

I actually know the people involved in this incident! Although I wasn't present when it happened, I'm told that it was caused initially by a tail-rotor failure. However, the pilot tried to save the model, which resulted in it drifting into the pit area where a group of new arrivals were chatting. They saw it coming at the last minute and all jumped - except one poor lad who jumped the wrong way!

It resulted in one of the biggest insurance claims the BMFA has had to handle in years!

The moral is: If something on the model breaks, no matter how tempting it is to try and save it, DUMP IT before it can do any harm!

am feeling a little better thx... I got bowel disease and it tends to frigg me up now and again ... I do see the lighter side of life tho lmao ....

Back on topic ... I think too many people are more bothered about there model than a person .. I seen it at a few flying sites where they care more about there model and tbh its a pita to see it ... I would rather dump my nitro heli's than try and get it down too near to people .. safety is always my main concern .. I can always buy another model .. Cant fix someones life if you end up killing them

Just to put your mind at rest i have been hit in the arm with my 450 heli and although it hurt like hell and ripped my arms to shreds, and still have scars now.It was nowhere near as bad as this one in the vid......But still a reminder that a 450 sized heli can do much damage if it hits you, especially if it has fibreglass blades on which mine did.But if id have had the woodies on it mite not have been as bad but would have still hurt! remember safety first, not the heli!

                        I think it was a Raptor 50!

I managed to hit myself once with a 60 size machine. Luckily it was using wooden blades and I had multiple layers of winter clothing on. It hit me where I keep my brains, and I had a bruise the size of a dinner plate on my rear for a week.........!!!

You *really* don't want to get hit by a heli!

even in the hands of the pro's things can go wrong but its this sort of thing that hopefully makes you take more care.
