I'm wanting to pay for my new Blade 400 from Pieter but he doesn't have a paypal account anymore, is there a member that lives near to him that could handle the transaction for us or a member that could pay for the blade and then accept my money via paypal to pay for it.

Need to be honest as i want Pieter to get his money and obviously i really want the Blade.

Can any of you recommend a person that can handle free money/ helicopter and are guaranteed to pass it along

What about an online bank transfer (most are instant now instead of 3 days) or a cheque recorded in the post today?

we thought bank transfers were not accountable should anything go wrong (we both with crapwest) but i just rang and they said as its the same bank if anything went wrong then i could ask for my cash back, not that i dont trust him its just a simple case of not knowing him, we have spokem via phone and he seems legit but i have been burned in the past so now im careful

I may be mistaken but PayPal only protects you if you buy a product via eBay and with with PayPal...for money transfers on PayPal I think you are on your own...but as I say I await correction.

if your not comfortable doing it then walk away.

with the best will in the world your asking another member to take the same risk but it's doubled as you may not pay them if you don't like the heli or never receive it. paypal won't cover you as not direct seller-buyer transaction. i'm not saying your dishonest but you want the heli you need to take the risk.

if you transfer money and you don't get the goods the bank won't give you the money back either. the bank doesn't care if you get your goods as a bank transfer isn't done on the promise of goods in return, unlike paypal hence the buyer protection.

i would send a cheque and that way you have an address atleast.

            cheers

no i bought some stuff for my pc via paypal and the guy turned out to be a crook, but coz i paid via paypal he eventually refunded me after the usual 'you said to the postie you didnt want it' and 'i went on holiday' bullpoo

Bank transfer is the way to go if you both with natwest it will happen same day far as i am aware. Postal order is another way as that can be cashed straight away.
But if you are unsure then don't do the deal.
                  Cheers

A bank transfer is instant as we both with Natwest so thats fine, the problem im having is if my cash is covered, i rang the bank and they said if i transfered and something happend i was covered and could ask for my cash back, but i didnt tell them it was for goods and in the post above it says coz its for goods if anything bad happens there is nowt i can do.

                    Update:
Rang Halifax this time as i bank with them too and they said i wouldnt be covered for goods, how long do you think it would take to walk 580 miles?

it's obvious what you need to do here, phone a shop and buy a new one. you obviously have a niggling doubt here so forget the deal.

the bank will cover the money if it's lost in the mist, not going to happen but as electronic things can happen. when they said your covered it will be because of an electronic error on their system.

                      cheers
