  • RC System vs Walkera

    Hi,

Ive been looking at 2 brands of helicopter RC System and walkera the easy copter XS and walkera 5#10 they look very very similar infact identical.
Does anyone have any info on rc system helis? are they rebranded walkeras?
Or just both copies of an other brand? or which is coppied from which???
    Any info would be good

    Thanks

A few Helicopters are identical but branded under different manufactures.

It's like the Walkera & Century Chinook Contra machines, there totally the same apart from a different colour patten on the canopy, plus the Century is about £70 more then the Walkera equivalent, I'd be interested in Century's reply to this, but I'd say many helis like the Contras are assembled in the same Plant in China, and are shipped out to there respective customers, though I find very little respectful with such a price gap between the two companies for the same machine.

For what its worth you would be best spending a little more and going with a Blade CX2, the quality is far better. Just look how they hold their price secondhand.

Okay, you want more info fine. But don't .

              1. Plug your store on your first post
              2. Register as a not a business
              3. Have a website that doesn't meet the legal requirements for distant selling regulations.

Are I see, nothing escapes admin on this forum

PJ just talking about the machines in general, and if I may I have an alternative POV & model to mention

I have the Blade CX2 and love it, in the hall it's great simple fun, and sometimes it's nice to just lark about with a Contra.

But I believe the Chinook Contra machines actually cost more then the BCX2, however after seeing this next Heli I'm going to link too my attitude towards the BCX2 as being the best Contra (though it is a super flyer) has taken a nose dive.

After seeing this fly at the club, handling it & giving it a good going over I think this is the best Contra on the market.

                http://www.chinesejade.com/walkera245_10_Heli.htm

It's built like a Tank, with an alloy Boom, skids Blade grips, and the general build of the chassis is solid and tight.

She flys wonderfully and is piratically indestructible compared to other powerful yet delicate Contra Heli's,

When you hold it the Walkera 10 reminds you of an SE V2 build quality, and I can honestly say I'd recommend this above the BCX2 if someone wanted a larger and more powerful starter machine then the MCX.

Other Contras are often over shadowed due to the BCX2, and now the CX3 version has arrived even more publicity will be focused upon the latest E-Flite Contra, though it's a quality product, for shear build and handling the Walkera in the link I feel would take some beating.

                    cambs flyer
I have to agree ive got a 5#10 walkera an its a great heli very strong and ive bash and crashed it dozens of times and it just wont break appart from the skids which do break easily on heavy landings but the metal blade clamps and boom and pretty undestructable the motors, servos and gears have all held up very well.
As for the cx3 ive not heard when its coming out in UK has anyone got one?

I think there's quite a back log on orders, if it's available yet I'm not sure, but with typical E-Flite marketing there'll properly let the hype get to fever pitch then go in for the kill.

If Walkera gave there products the same kind of marketing machines like the 5#10 would be best sellers, and an not just stand in the shadows with dozens of lesser made models.

I'm with you on that score mate, the twin Contras look dead cool but there Rota area demands a larger space to fly in then a normal Contra, but in a gym or hall it would be awesome.

Plus there on 2.4ghz now whereas the original Skylift was 35mhz.

Again flying something which you can forget about tipping over is great fun, and when you've a few others flying them at the same time brings out the big kid within you.

But there's nothing like controlling a CCPM machine and listening to those blades cut through the air, but again, that's the kid in me for yea.

They do looked the same to me! I have a walkera 5g6-1 and it's serving its purpose well which is small enough to fly in my room and it's pretty darn quick. Also I've only need to replace the motors ever since I got it! I must be pretty lucky.
