  • snow problem

I had the Rx flashing and the motor slowing down on my 450 today.
I thought I must have put a used battery in it. After swapping the packs it flew two packs fine.
The duff one turned out to be charged so i hovered it and it did the same, but looking more closely at the heli I found there was some snow getting on the electrics and specifically on an open connector leftover from night flying stuff.
After blowing the snow out of it, and also elsewhere the heli then flew the pack out hovering about and ended up going over the wall into the field for a bit of more energetic flying without incident.

Seems snow on that connector or somehwere else was getting to things and causing a shutdown.

I'll have to get a wooden landing pad.

Today I did a sliding auto with my 500 onto the snow and it suddenly sank in and stopped just as the rotors stopped. Quite funny. I'll not try that again I was probably lucky there!
