Looking for a replacment for a---

Hi all,

My Mini pred is now doing my nut in !! It has to go ( in the bin )

Its done pretty well upto now but the thing has started playing up and is now showing its cheapness. It is so twitchy that i cant rely on it any more. The swash has more slack in it than my undies elastic, so one minute i can be hovering away quite nicley the next it heading for the ground at a million miles an hour!!! Also, one of the servos has stripped its gear threads for no apparent reason !!! Ive had no major prangs with it There is no point wasting good money on new servos etc so its going to the parts bin soon.

Sooo, Im looking for a RTF on 2.4Ghz.. I dont wanna fall in the same trap and get a cheapy if its going to be crap.. What do you sugest chaps ? I have a Beam E4 that will soon be up and running but im looking for a day to day beater.

Been eying up the Blade 400 but any other helis i should be thinking of ?

if you already have radio gear the twister storm 3d its basicly the same as the blade!(dare i say it slightly better spec as std ..carbon blades/ fins) but of course if you still need 2.4 gear the blade fits the bill

blade 400 would be ideal, then you can use the dx6i for the beam also, you can have 10 different models on that radio.
If you already have a radio go for the twister storm

i have loved my blade 400 since i fist got it!!
you could also look at getting a trex 450 or 250
i hear that lots of people love their 250's!!

Ive got a Tx but thats it. The 2.4 Rx, servos etc are staying in the Beam so might as well get the whole lot !!

I would run the Beam as a beater!, it will put up with the beating without the wear..

Crash costs.. well..

Parts wise its as cheap as any other heli listed, so no real gain there.

In fact cheaper than most!

Replacement of things like main shaft and tail shafts are mins to replace and can be carried out at the field if you wanted!

Yes, you don't want to crash your pride and joy but thats what it there for!

If you wanted one for best get a second in a few months..

If you can master one heli, you can fly any heli, simple as that!

but most of us like toys and always have 2 or more.. its is harder to learn if one day you fly this model and another you fly that.. even the same type can feel different..

There is one gain and that would be to go up a size 500 or 600, only due to the size for outdoor use and it would be more stable on really windy days..

Beams don't hit the ground and explode, there quite strong little buggers..

Every Crash can be different but its there to be flown, spend the money on a extra battery or three and beat the crap out of it. lol

Rob makes a good point but I also noticed that another memeber has a practically brand new Blade with upgraded 65mGs with DX6i and hes asking £400 including a bunch of spares and bats. Here. You could buy it then sell the DX6i.
